Being 1 of 26 students that got the opportunity to represent Roger Williams University in the National Student Advertising Competition 2020 was an unforgettable experience. Being a graphic designer and never really being a part of something this large was very intimidating at first. Juggling being spring student-athlete, classes, and this new campaign team; what my future held was long sleepless nights and a very compact schedule. Yet, I knew I was ready to accept the challenge. 

Being an athlete has built me to have strong communication and time management skills, and know how to work with others in teams. However, being on the graphic design group in campaign team was a very different atmosphere which helped me adjust to the new environment and build on those skills.

From going through every idea we came up with via trial and error, receiving countless feedback from our fellow teammates, long nights, and teamwork, we, the Roger Williams University 2020 NSAC Team won 1st Place in our district! It was such an amazing feeling. On the other hand, we did not win the whole competition. What I did walk
away with was enhanced graphic design and marketing skills, new knowledge of how a marketing campaign operates, how to create a campaign, and 25 great relationships
with my fellow colleagues.
